Meet our Farmers

Bamboo farming provides an excellent side business for supplemental income to farmers in the Sichuan region. Meet Mr. Chan. He is a farmer, entrepreneur and father, growing bamboo in Sichuan Province. He & his family own a family business adjacent to 300,000 square metres of land they lease from the government. This land is used for bamboo harvesting. By using sustainable farming practices, bamboo farms never need to be clearcut. Like many farmers in the region, Mr. Chan harvests bamboo for supplemental income during the slower winter months of his primary business. With the long term in mind, Mr. Chan believes the land will readily provide for his family for years to come.

Our Factories

Our factories are vertically integrated with the pulp manufacturers. We do not source from 3rd party converting facilities. Our factories are audited for safety and social responsibility. Auditing bodies include UL and BSCI certifications with passing scores. Our facilities are BRC and ISO certified.

Safety

Our pulping & converting facilities are audited annually for health, safety and social responsibility. These audits are performed based on North American retailer requirements. Tree Free Sourcing has an independent domestic quality control team that visits their facilities on a regular basis. This offers a unique advantage to other international sourcing companies who, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, cannot travel to these regions.

Welfare & Fairness

Our pulping & converting facilities provide community initiatives to enrich & grow local communities. Highlights include building of local road systems & schools, homeowner subsidies for local employees and post-secondary education subsidies for children of employees.

Our pulping & converting facilities are FSC Certified & audited annually for health, safety and social responsibility. These audits are performed based on North American retailer requirements.
